Product description
Psalms 107–150 form the fifth book of the Psalter and deal with the major theme of “Word and Fulfillment.” It thus shows clear parallels to the Book of Deuteronomy, which begins with the sentence: "These are the words" and ends with the fact that after a long history of sin and failure, the people of God - by God's grace - finally find the harbor they longed for enters.
The 107th Psalm sings of God's people being led back into the land after long years of dispersion. Psalm 108 speaks of how the land is to be measured; Psalm 109 speaks of the suffering of the righteous. In the 110th Psalm we see the suffering servant of God exalted to the right hand of God. The 5th Book of Psalms also contains the 119th Psalm, which sings about the beauty, purity and power of God's Word. The following fifteen step songs trace the path by which the people return to finally be what God had chosen this people to be in the beginning: priests and worshipers.
The five psalms that close the book all begin and end with “Hallelujah!” In the end everything will glorify the great God and Creator of the world, the Redeemer of Israel and King of the Nations. Then all of God's words will have found their fulfillment.
